Our detox blend is made up of green clay, activated charcoal and seaweed powder.
It is an amazing detox for the skin and body. However, due to the activated charcoal we dont recommend it be used on dry, sensitive or mature skin but more just on acne only if using it on the face. It is wonderful to apply to the feet to draw waste materials out (similar to foot patches), and fabulous as a body mask – if you dont have dry skin.
Benefits of green clay: –
Green clay, also known as illite, is an organic material comprised of a host of essential minerals, iron oxides, and decomposed plant material such as kelp and seaweed. Illite was called French green clay for centuries, named after the rock quarries in the south of France that yielded most of the world’s illite deposits. The clay is truly green in color; the more it leans toward gray-green, the less valuable it is deemed. Green clay is used in alternative medicine, both externally and internally, for many reasons, but mostly for cleaning and detox because of its vast absorbent properties. Illite is also used to relieve menstrual cramps, morning sickness, diarrhea, indigestion, and heartburn.
Benefits of seaweed powder:-
Seaweed Powder is a rich source of vitamins including vitamins B12 (not found in land plants), vitamin E, amino acids, minerals, trace elements, and other nutrients. Seaweed powder makes for an effective cleansing and exfoliating agent. When applied to the skin, Seaweed treatments act as a powerful purifier that draws out impurities while imparting benefits to the skin. It helps to slough off dead skin cells from the surface of the skin which gives the skin a healthy, revitalized, and glowing appearance. Seaweed contains fatty acids, which makes it suitable for use on irritated skin as it will help retain skin’s moisture levels, and alleviate chapping, cracking and roughness caused by dryness of the skin. It can also be used on oily and acne-prone skin. Seaweed Powder is suitable for all skin types.
Caution: Persons with an allergy to iodine should avoid using this product.
Benefits of Activated Charcoal: –
Activated charcoal is a fine black powder made from bone char, coconut shells, peat, petroleum coke, coal, olive pits or sawdust. The charcoal is “activated” by processing it at very high temperatures. The high temperatures change its internal structure, reducing the size of its pores and increasing its surface area. This results in a charcoal that is more porous than regular charcoal. Activated charcoal shouldn’t be confused with charcoal briquettes that are used to light your barbecue. While both can be made from the same base materials, charcoal briquettes have not been “activated” at high temperatures. Moreover, they contain additional substances that are toxic to humans.
