No matter what issues you’re hoping to help by using a coffee scrub, we’re convinced you’ll see awesome results. Adding a coffee scrub to your regular routine is a wonderful way to exfoliate your skin.
Our blend only uses fresh coffee. It also is made up of dry ingredients so to make it into a scrub you need to add fluid of some sort. This can be a small amount of water to make a slurry or some coconut oil, hemp oil or the like to make it a little more moisturising at the same time. These are also available in the Raw Beauty Bar.
Always stand in the shower when doing this as it is messy. Use it where ever you want stimulation. It can be used all over the body, however its fantastic for spot treatemnts as well – thighs, stomach etc When you have completed your exfoliation just shower off. It is also amazing for the dowagers hump at the back of the neck – caused by jutting the jaw and neck out too much. By using the active properties of coffee to help diminish the hump – combined with better neck posture, you can achieve a more desirable silhouette.
Activated Charcoal, also known as activated carbon, is a highly porous substance with an enormous surface area comparative to its apparent size. Applied topically, it is a powerful detoxifier attracting and removing toxins, free radicals and pollutants from the surface of the body. Positively charged ‘free radicals’ are attracted to the surface of the negatively charged charcoal. Due to micro-pores not visible to the naked eye the surface area of the Activated Carbon is immensely greater than what it appears. One teaspoon of Activated Charcoal powder adsorbs a huge amount of toxins.
We use it in this detox package in a number of ways – in the mouth (essential for starting any detox program you need to clean this up first). Mix a small amount into a paste and clean your teeth with it. Secondly you can mix a paste and apply to your feet – the feet is a fabulous way to detox the body – leave for 20 minutes and watch what dries first. Anything that is quick to dry are generally overactive (need a reflexology chart to follow this) and anything that takes a while to dry is more sluggish – gives you an insight to what is happening internally. After your 20 minutes you can jump into the shower and do the coffee scrub or use this as a stand alone session.
Lymph Cleanse Tea
The lymphatic system is our waste system. For example, if you put your thumb on the bottom of your wrist and forefinger on the top of your wrist the space between our thumb and forefinger is called the interstitial space. These interstitial spaces in our body house everything. All of our organs, bones, cells etc and every minute thing are happening in that space, there is cleanup happening all the time.
Cells are dying, bugs are being destroyed, nutrients are being transported to areas they’re needed as well as fats and large proteins being removed. This all sits in fluid and this fluid needs to be filtered. The lymphatic system is that filter system.
It is now known that all fluids within the interstitial space are transported through the lymphatic system and filtered through at least 2 lymph nodes before being put back into circulation or excreted from the body. One of the things the lymphatic system struggles with is saturated or heavy fats as it is hard to filter and slows the system down. Primarily the lymphatic system is very lazy and if it gets overwhelmed, it tends to go slower or struggle to push fluid through. So imagine in winter when we’re not exercising as much and eating foods higher in fats and proteins. It’s no wonder the lymphatic system gets sluggish, just think of it like blocked drain pipe; it backs up and goes nowhere.
The lymphatic system is the main remover of waste from the system. As all our teas are made by a naturopath sshe particularly specialises in the Lymphatics. A clear lymphatic system is essential for good skin. Lymphatic congestion is a major cause of poor elimination of waste and can lead to increased presentation of eczema, psoriasis, acne and general sluggish skin and also supports clearance of the liver and kidney. The herbs used are very mild in flavour and suits to be drunk as a cold tea in your water bottle or hot.
