Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. The lymph system depends on intrinsic contractions of the smooth muscle cells in the walls of lymph vessels (peristalsis) and the movement of skeletal muscles to propel lymph through the vessels to lymph nodes and then beyond the lymph nodes to the lymph ducts which return lymph to the cardiovascular system.

Cupping is the term applied to a technique that uses small glass cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin. By using an alcohol-soaked cotton pad then lighting it, and putting the cup immediately against the skin. Flames are never used near the skin and are not lit throughout the process of cupping, but rather are a means to create the heat that causes the suction within the small cups. This technique is called “Fire” Cupping and one of the techniques employed at Cinergee.

The suction in the cups causes the skin and superficial muscle layer to be lightly drawn into the cup. Cupping is much like the inverse of massage – rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward.

What Is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a holistic practice that works to keep the body in balance and to help activate the body’s natural abilities to heal itself. It works to restore the body back into it’s harmonic state. The practice of reflexology divides the body into reflex zones, which covers the entire body. There are 10 zones on the body, five on each side. Each zone is represented by points on the bottom of feet. For example, the brain, which is represented on both feet, is connected to a reflex point on your toes.

What Does It Do?

Reflexology foot massages are mainly used to release tension and stress. Stress can be a huge factor in worsening many health issues and not dealing with that build up can create blocked energy along any of the zones in your body. Reflexology works to release this tension and therefore relieving this energy blockage. It allows your body to achieve a level of equilibrium, putting it into an ideal state to tackle minor health concerns.

On top of releasing this stress, a foot massage also helps increase blood circulation, release toxins, reduce and diminish pain and can induce a deep state of relaxation. A reflexology session however, cannot diagnose. What it may show is inbalance within the system…..no more. The goal of any session is to return to body back into balance while inducing relaxation. If the person performing the treatment is concerned about anything happening in the body, they will refer you to your doctor for diagnosis.

Craniosacral Therapy is the great way to de-stress!

This calming treatment is an advanced pain management technique.

In today’s very busy world, it is very easy to slip into a life that involves being on the go all the time. With so much technology to keep us contactable at all times, it’s no wonder our bodies start to feel sluggish and tired and just want a break from it all. Craniosacral Therapy can offer a safe haven form all the goings on of the world. The environment is supportive, quiet and calming. Craniosacral Thearpy can work wonders on unraveling an over active nervous system. When a Nervous system is constantly in stress, people start to notice other systems such as sleeping issues, poor bowel function, low energy levels, eye disturbances, digestive disorders, and the list goes on. Having regular Craniosacral Therapy sessions is one way stessed and anxious people can stay on top of their game. It can help give you the resources, balance and energy to cope much better with what your work and life throws at you.

It is a non-invasive systemic release of soft tissue. Cranio-sacral therapy releases dysfunctional tissues held in place by trapped and unresolved emotional patterns. Fabulous for migraine sufferers.

MUSCLE RE-ALIGNMENT THERAPY

This massage is exclusive to Cinergee being developed by its founder, Vivienne Bartle, over a 36 year period.

From birth we are constantly in the “Wars”. Every little bump, scratch or knock we receive throughout our life registers as a tension in the muscle. The more knocks and bumps we receive, the more rigid our muscle patterns become to protect us from pain. As we age, we also develop postural issues from school bags being too heavy, too much sitting or repetitive motions. If we remember that all our muscles cross joints (sometimes two) tension in one part of the body will create an inbalance in the other and this can lead to wear and tear. Also as every part of the body is inter-connected through its fascia, a “pain in the neck” could come from the hands, pelvis or feet.

Eventually the bodies reaction to protect us from pain, causes pain!

Muscle Realignment Therapy gives amazing relief to any musculo-skeletal condition. It works on the correction of physical conditions, caused by chronic muscle imbalance. It uses a combination of modalities that together, are very effective when given in a systematic delivery – without creating pain. It gives unbelievable quick relief when used to treat pain (especially chronic lower back/neck pain) and releases muscular knots, balances postural issues, recurring injuries and restriction of motion. When followed with a maintenance program, it supports the body physically as it ages.

DEEP TISSUE & SPORTS MASSAGE

This is still an all-over massage due to the need to work on muscle restrictions elsewhere in the body, that can lead to muscle injuries whilst playing sports. We recommend you have a Remedial Muscle Re-alignment done prior to starting any exercise program, to make sure that muscle restrictions are not going to affect joint function and hence lead to inherent pain. Our Deep Tissue & Sports Massage will generally cover trigger points, stretches and tapotment/friction/petrissage techniques. This is a pre &/or post event massage to prevent, minimize or rehabilitate injuries. Increasing physical and mental performance. Speeds up recovery time. Certain massage techniques combined with an anti-inflammatory product, decreases inflammation, increasing ROM and flexibility. Deep Tissue massage loosens tight fatigued muscles and scarred tissue.
